Fashion is what you wear, style is how you wear it. My favorite pieces from my closet completely embody my style; sometimes simple, sometimes bold, sometimes loud and sometimes subtle. Take a closer look at some of my favorite items and how I’d wear them.
Custom Made Bunny Ears
A good friend of mine is a DIY queen. Earlier this year she made a pair of bunny ears that I adore! Bunny ears offer a very fun, playful look. It’s the perfect accessory to have when you want to dress up a plain outfit. Often times, I wear my bunny ears with a black top and pencil skirt.
Nine West Boogiedown Pointed Suede Pump in Blue Multi
I love vintage or vintage-like pieces. The Nine West Boogiedown Pointed Suede Pumps remind me of the 80s. The bold, patchwork shoes are perfect for a denim-on-denim look. Not only are these pumps adorable, they’re completely comfortable and affordable ($32).
Asos Jacket in Mixed Floral Print with Metallic Tape Detail
During a shopping binge, I came across a mixed print jacket. It was so ugly that it became very appealing to me. I ordered that jacket for just $30. I recently wore the jacket to an event and received so many compliments! I paired the jacket with a white tunic, denim shorts and thigh-high boots.
Maison Martin Margiela Boots
In late 2012, H&M collaborated with high-end designer Maison Martin Margiela. That collab brought us fringe necklaces, off-white winter coats and rich leather boots. During a stroll through H&M, I came across a pair of reddish brown, clear wedge, leather boots. Priced at just $125, I could not leave the store without them. Two year later, these boots are still my favorite! They’re completely timeless and can be worn with anything.
For a simple look, pair the Margiela boots with a white tunic accessorized with a fur vest.
Lucy Over the Knee Box Pleat Skirt
I’ve always looked for the best alternative to a spandex midi skirt. Sometimes you want to be free, and spandex skirts can be very restrictive. I found the perfect skirt on Boohoo.com. I’ve worn this skirt numerous times and it looks different every single time! This is the perfect multi-purpose skirt.
Rock this skirt by pairing it with a black crop top. By wearing all black you can go more subtle or bold with the heels. For the subtle look, tan open-toe sandals from Shoedazzle will brighten up your all black ensemble.
