Styling 101: Lady in Navy

Styling is something I do occasionally but I wouldn’t really market myself as a stylist.  Every now and then I like to provide my services to my friends/loved ones for special occasions.  Maria, one of my favorite people in the world, approached me about getting her dolled up for her company holiday party.  She is not huge on dresses, skirts, heels or makeup.  Because I’ve styled her in the past, I already knew what she likes, dislikes and would stay clear from.  Maria is about 5’7 with big, curly hair.  She has a lean, athletic build that looks great in just about anything.  The last time I styled her for a company party, I aired on the pretty girl side with a floral skirt and white button down top.  This time around, I wanted to show her sexy, sophisticated side so I opted for a leather pencil skirt and lace T-shirt from Zara.  Because we wanted to remain work appropriate, we paired the shirt with a navy blue camisole from Uniqlo.  An all navy look can seem dark and not festive for a holiday party.  The combination of the lace shirt and gold glittery d’Orsay pumps by Jessica Simpson, offer enough holiday cheer for a person who isn’t into dresses and frills.  Get the details below!
