30 Mar On the Scene: Underground Artistry’s 3rd Annual Fashion Show
Saturday, March 26th Underground Artistry held their annual fashion show in the heart of Chelsea. Judging from last year’s show, I knew I’d be in for great fashion, awesome vendors and talented performers. The pink carpet was hosted by Rae Holiday and the show was hosted by Claire Sulmers and Angela Yee. This year’s lineup featured a handful of talented designers, all with the potential of being the next big thing. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Spina Bifida Association. The Spina Bifida organization specializes in educating and assisting families who are affected by the birth defect that splits a baby’s spine while in the womb. Another portion will go to Inwood House and Maya’s Place, both organizations geared towards supporting and empowering young adults.
Here are some highlights from the night:
The event was sponsored by Clique by Roble, K2 Nail Paint, LA Colors Cosmetics, 1031 Boutique, Eden Body Works, By Made Beautiful, Boxed Water, Bijoux Events, Exclusiv Vodka, Romey Rome the Chef, and Keyola Cuisine.
The first designer, Yvonne Jewnell, featured amazing African inspired clothing that was a perfect mixture of traditional and urban garb.
Blogger Favorite?: White harem pants with the gold and fuchsia African print top.
Here are some other looks from the collection:
Shades of Shea hit the runway next with elegant neutrals and gorgeous dresses.
Blogger Favorite?: The sequin sweater/shorts set. Definitely can see myself wearing it! Reminds me of something Jennifer Lopez would wear.
Here are some more looks from the runway:
I’m biased to the 3rd designer because for a few months she worked as an intern for MarshBar’s Closet. Hadassador displayed her sleek design skills through her gowns and dresses.
Blogger Favorite?: The blush pink, shoulder cutout jumpsuit! Very classy!
Other favorites from the runway:
Le’Rever showed a mixture of African inspired suits and gorgeous gowns.
Blogger Favorite?: The African print 2-piece suit! You guys already know I’m a sucker for a matching set. The suit could be worn in so many ways.
Other runway favorites:
Headlining the show was These Pink Lips, designer to Amber Rose’s 2015 VMA outfit. Their collection is definitely for the bold and daring. Just about every piece that graced the runway made a loud statement.
Blogger Favorite: this entire ensemble. From the jacket, to the bodysuit, to the bag, I loved it all. I’m not cool enough to wear them all together, but I’d definitely run that jacket and bag into the ground.
Here are some of the other runway looks:
Vendors on site were RAW Handbags, 1031 Boutique, Killer Mermaid Shops and These Pink Lips. It was such a dope night filled with great fashion and positive energy. Take a look at some shots from the rest of the night.
