On the Scene: Short Hair Don’t Care Runway Event

Tahira Joy, co-founder of The Cut Life presented her very first runway event titled, Short Hair, Don’t Care.  You can imagine my excitement in attending this event since I’m a natural gal with a tapered cut.  Hosted at a space in Dumbo, Brooklyn, the event quickly filled up with beautiful, brown men and women with a variety of hairstyles despite the theme of the day.

The room was lined with entrepreneurs vending their products to the public.  Although the focus was hair, you were able to find a lil somethin’ for everyone.  Let’s get into some of the vendors:

Lucid Bliss

Tiffany Lamb of My Lucid Bliss, created a luxurious hair care line that is likely to change the game when it comes to strong, healthy hair.  Her products are newly released (read my write up for Fashion Bomb Daily on her launch here).

Her line includes shampoo, conditioner, hair refreshener and vitamin hair drops.  You can purchase the set here for $100.

Cee Cee’s Closet

I’ve had a few run-in’s with Cee Cee’s Closet (see here and here).  I think it’s safe to say I’m a fan!  I love the ankara print purses and headwraps and I’m obsessed with the handmade leather and suede bags!

So well made!  You can shop more from their collection here.

Welp!  Short hair, long hair, it really doesn’t matter.  With Outre wigs you can be whomever you want to be!  A wig is a great item to have in your back pocket for those unruly hair days or simply when you want to switch it up.  Learn more about their products here.

Uncle Funky’s Daughter

Uncle Funky’s Daughter offers a full collection of products promised to restore your hair.  You can find their leave-in-conditioner, miracle moisture creme, brilliant shine creme, curl simulator and leave-in curl revitalizer.  Uncle Funky’s Daughter can be found in Target, or you can visit their website here.

See more of the vendors below!

The runway show featured various salons in the tri-state area showing off their skills behind the short hairstyles.  I definitely had some favorites!  Take a look at the styles to hit the runway.  Which was your fave?

I confirmed myself as a, ‘short hair, don’t care’ girl a few years back but this event reinforced it!  Not only did I have an opportunity to sample and buy new products, I suffered from the ultimate level of hair envy!

Thank you Tahira Joy, Enjoi Lux and Hair Rules for putting together a fun and educational runway event dedicated to ‘short hair, don’t care’ community!
