“Style comes from knowing who you are and who you want to be in the world; it does not come from wanting to be somebody else, or wanting to be thinner, shorter, taller, prettier.”
― Nina García, The Little Black Book of Style

Hi! I’m Marsha Badger. Welcome to MarshBar’s Closet – a place where fashion and inspiration collide.

A little about me. I’m a former fashion stylist turned blogger who lives in Brooklyn, NY. I’m a native New Yorker so you’ll notice a lot of my style inspiration comes from the streets I love it here in New York. Over the past several years I’ve had the privilege to write for other fashion sites including EGL, Kontrol Magazine, PYNK Magazine and Fashion Bomb Daily. I am also proud to say that I wrote my first book A Body of Art in 2011. It’s a collection of poetry written over a five-year span of my life.

I would describe my personal fashion style as retro. I’m big on vintage pieces and love matching separates and mixing prints. I believe that clothing isn’t just about what you’re wearing, but how you wear it. My style icon is Solange Knowles. I’m crazy about her freedom, expression, and everything!

I caught the fashion bug while attending Brooklyn College. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communications, and in my free time I was styling and consuming everything about the fashion industry.

Okay, that’s enough about me. I’d love to hear from you. Send me an email. I love getting to know my readers.

In the meantime, enjoy hanging out in my closet. I hope you find something that inspires you to be fun and fierce.
